'Marvel's Agent Carter' season 2 release date: To be released in UK after US premiere
UK fans of the hit series "Marvel's Agent Carter" will be excited to hear that the series will return to the small screen with its second season early next year.
The series has received positive response from viewers, garnering a weekly audience of 900,000 viewers. According to FOX International Channels UK managing director Jeff Ford, the series received great ratings with a million people witnessing Peggy Carter's adventures.
He said, "We're thrilled to bring the season two premiere to UK fans, and can't wait to see what's in store for the feisty and fearless heroine."
It was reported that the upcoming season will pick up a year after the events of the previous season. Consisting 10 episodes, the upcoming season will focus on Peggy traveling to Los Angeles from New York City for a dangerous task. With that, fans can expect a new love interest for Peggy Carter. It was said that the female lead will be moving on from her love for Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America. The new location will bring her a new romantic partner, as confirmed by Hayley Atwell herself.
Michele Fazekas, showrunner of "Marvel's Agent Carter," also explained why they had chosen LA for the upcoming season during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She said, "What I love about LA that is different than New York is you have the spectacular wealth and glamour and beauty right next to the grit and crime, often right up against each other. So I love telling those stories. I love ugly things happening in beautiful places. We're very much being inspired by noir films."
Confirmation stated that James D'Arcy (Edwin Jarvis), Enver Gjokaj (Daniel Sousa), and Chad Michael Murray (Jack Thompson) will return to the series, as well.
"Marvel's Agent Carter" will be released on FOX UK close to the release date of the U.S. airing. The second season will begin early 2016.
