Mary Kay Ash Pink Mansion for Sale, Pink Toilet Included
Homebuyers in the market for luxurious mansions being sold at bargain prices are in luck, if they want their mansion decorated in all pink that is, as the mansion of Mary Kay has just gone up for sale.
The house, which was originally sold for $5.7 million, is now being sold at $3.3 million, which many are considering a bargain. The only downfall is that the house comes fully loaded with pink walls, a pink exterior, and even a pink toilet. The excessive pink color can be attributed to the home's former owner Mary Kay.
Mary Kay Ash became a well-respected business owner after starting her own cosmetics line in 1963. Originally employed at a home products store, she quit after being turned down for a promotion that instead went to a man she herself had trained.
Unemployed and determined to write a book that would help other women in business, she instead developed her own ideal business plan, which she would later put into action.
The result was Mary Kay Cosmetics, a successful, privately-owned company. Pink became the color of Mary Kay after the businesswoman decided at some point to paint a pink Cadillac. The action earned the company so much publicity the Ash later decided that top-earning employees also deserved a nice pink car each. Pink then, quickly became the color of success.
The property is up for sale in Dallas, Texas. Although a single family home, it boasts eight baths, seven fireplaces, and six bedrooms in addition to a full size pool and a 320 square foot mansion.
Mary Kay earned a reputable image by following the "Golden Rule" within her company, which entailed "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." She was also supportive of women in business and even her religion also pushing the motto, "God first, family second, career third."
