Maryland Batman Lamborghini Stopped By Police (VIDEO)

A man driving a black Lamborghini dressed in a Batman costume is filling headlines after he was pulled over by Maryland police for not having the appropriate license plates on his "batmobile."

Montgomery County police pulled over the man, whose story was first published in the Washington Post after the officers took pictures of the incident and posted them on the Departments Facebook page.

Officers pulled over the vehicle due to missing plates being replaced by the bat sign, as reported by the Baltimore Sun. Maryland requires motor vehicle operators to have license plates both in the front and rear of the vehicle so that any vehicle can be easily identified.

The typical police action in this situation would be to issue a citation to have the problem corrected. In this situation- given the "do-gooder" actions of Batman- he was given a verbal warning and was sent on his way to spread joy and smiles, according to the Baltimore Sun.

The man behind the mask is Lenny B. Robinson, a successful business man doing good by giving back. Robinson buys about $25,000 worth of Batman toys each year to hand to children he visits at the hospital, according to The Washington Post.

He takes on the persona of the caped crusader to bring smiles to sick children in local hospitals to give gifts to those who he feels are "up-and-coming superheroes who first need to beat cancer and other wretched diseases."

Robinson explains that it is his sense of duty that calls him to help in any way he can if only offering a few words and smiles to the children.

"It feels like I have a responsibility that's beyond a normal person. And that responsibility is to be there for the kids, to be strong for them, and to make them smile as much as I can," Robinson told the Washington Post.
