'Mass Effect: Andromeda': BioWare Addresses Criticisms; Promises Necessary Changes
Because of a widely mixed sentiment among players since "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was released, developers from BioWare have finally addressed the criticisms with the promise of bringing necessary changes to the game.
BioWare opened their message to players by expressing their excitement that the game is now out and currently being experienced by fans of the franchise. However, the studio also recognized that since launch they have "received quite a bit of feedback, some of it positive and some of it critical."
While some of those critical feedbacks could be harsh at times, BioWare explained that those remain "an important part of our ongoing support of the game." The company also teased fans that on Tuesday, April 4, they are going to make more announcements about their plans to further improve the game.
In the end, BioWare encourages players to keep sending them feedback and promised that their developers are "listening, working around the clock" to analyze gamers' response and looking at suggestions to improve the game.
Though having bugs upon launch have become a normal thing for newly released games, some of the disappointments that early players of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" have are focused on the game's contents.
Right when the game went live for the exclusive early access, the banters and complaints about the game's animations spread like wildfire on social media. The situation got so intense that even a former Electronic Arts employee, who was mistakenly identified as "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" head of animation, was cyberbullied and attacked with harassing, sexist messages.
However, even among gaming news outlets, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was given relatively underwhelming reviews and ratings. At Metacritic, the critic reviews were far more appreciative as they gave the game an overall score of 76 out of 100.
On the other hand, user reviews were a bit on the brutal side. As of writing, 2,084 players went to Metacritic to rate and review the game. Out of that number, 1,094 of them provided a negative response, giving the game a red-colored 4.7 overall user rating.
One of the most recent and tagged "most helpful" reviews from one of the players said: "The Planets do look amazing, to absolutely stunning and immersive and they are one of the few reasons this game gets some points on my list ... The gameplay is actually fun and dynamic ... but then come the bugs to make you remember this game is no fun with enemies getting stuck on roof, ice, or anywhere were you can't kill them unless you reload a previous save and that is just one of the many bugs the game has."
