'Mass Effect: Andromeda' News: Upcoming Game's Multiplayer Component To Be Playable at PAX East
Multiplayer beta for 'Mass Effect: Andromeda' no longer set to be made available
Gamers looking forward to the arrival of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will finally be able to get it on March 21. But for those who can't wait that long to try out this new title, they may want to pay a visit to PAX East.
According to a new post on the BioWare Blog, the multiplayer component of this new science fiction role-playing game will be made playable at the aforementioned event.
Unfortunately, while fans will have an opportunity to check out "Andromeda's" multiplayer mode at the event that's already set to start on March 10, they will no longer be able to try it out from the comfort of their own homes as the multiplayer tech test, also known as the multiplayer beta, has been canceled.
In related news, the multiplayer mode featured in the new game will be a bit different from the ones featured in earlier "Mass Effect" titles.
First off, the multiplayer mode included in the newest "Mass Effect" game will handle power cooldowns differently. Powers are now being given individual cooldown timers as opposed to being tied to a single global timer, so this change should also encourage players to switch up their strategies.
This revamped multiplayer component will now also feature something known as Prestige XP. Detailed in an earlier Game Informer report, the addition of the Prestige XP system is designed to keep players engaged in the multiplayer mode over longer stretches of time.
One more reason why players may want to invest more time into "Andromeda's" multiplayer offering is because they can earn some nice rewards. Over on Twitter, lead designer Ian S. Frazier recently noted that single player rewards can be received from playing multiplayer mode, meaning even those who aren't all that interested in this part of the game may still want to check it out just to make sure they don't miss out on some potentially useful items.
More news about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" and its multiplayer component should be made available soon.
