'Master of None' Season 2 Returns to Netflix This May
Fans will only need wait a little over a month until the comedy series "Master of None" returns to Netflix for its second season. In the meantime, the first official trailer for the upcoming season has been released.
Lead star Aziz Ansari took to Twitter to debut the official trailer for the upcoming season to his 11 million followers on the social media site.
In the trailer, the 34-year-old actor reprises his role as Dev Shah, who — based on the released video — looks for love and adventure in Italy. The footage also features his real-life parents, Shoukath and Fatima Ansari, singer John Legend as well as actor Bobby Cannavale.
"Master of None" follows Dev as he pursues an acting career while also finding romance in New York. The first season of the series dove into diverse subjects such as the issues surrounding religion, dating in the digital age, revealing one's true sexuality to the family and finding the most delicious pasta.
In the upcoming season, fans will get to see the character take on new challenges after his trip.
"After traveling abroad, Dev returns to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him," the show's season 2 synopsis reads.
The first season of "Master of None" was released on Netflix back in 2015. In August 2016, Aziz explained why there was a delay in between the seasons of the show during his interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
"This show isn't the type of show where we're going to be able to just turn around and turn it in right away," the actor explained. "We covered so much stuff in season 1 and wanted to make sure the ideas we had in season 2 were equally interesting and the episodes were just as ambitious."
"Master of None" season 2 is scheduled to exclusively premiere on Netflix on Friday, May 12.
