'MasterChef Junior' Finale Down to Two: Who Will Win?

Tonight Fox will air the first-ever "MasterChef Junior" finale. One young chef will be crowned with the inaugural title and $100,000. Read on to find out more about this show and what all the contestants have been through this season.

Alexander was the first young chef chosen for the grand finale, which airs tonight on Fox. Throughout the season he has been a front-runner, winning challenges and catching the eye of judges Graham Elliot, Gordon Ramsay, and Joe Bastianich. In fact, during the first part of the finale, Ramsay jokingly offered Alexander a job.

"I'll fly you to London to work at the Savoy Grill," Ramsay said, much to Alexander's glee.

The second young chef, Dara, has also been a formidable opponent, winning over the judges with her creativity and ability to think fast on her feet. She, too, has won several challenges and is an instantly recognizable figure with her large bow headbands.

During this inaugural season, which picked up viewers along the way, cooks as young as 6-years-old showed their incredible talent and skill in the kitchen. In fact, in one episode, six of them took over the kitchen of a famed restaurant, and not even diners realized they were eating food prepared by people young enough to be their own children and grandchildren.

Contestants were not given easy assignments or challenges just because of their youth. They were able to make Beef Wellington, a dish that Ramsay is famous for, roulade, and, for the last challenge, a chicken dish made with the part of a chicken given to them by a fellow contestant.

Perhaps one of the funniest moments was when the children were challenged to make whipped cream, using only egg whites. How was this test judged? The three contestants left at the end were allowed to hold a bowl of the egg whites over each of the judges' heads. At the end of the test, no one was left without egg on his face, but the judges were all good sports.
