Matt Lauer's Chris Brown Interview Criticized
Chris Brown appeared on the "Today" show Monday where he was interviewed by host Matt Lauer in a segment that left some upset and others uncomfortable.
Brown,23, has been making his media rounds as of late where he has been promoting his new single "Fine China" along with his upcoming summer studio album release "X." However, Brown was also questioned about his 2009 physical assault of girlfriend and pop star Rihanna which left some of his fans upset with Lauer.
"Matt was getting annoying!!!! It was more about him and @rihanna then it was about his music ugh typical!!!! I wish they would stop talking about what happened in 2009!!!"
Although Brown did not seem at ease throughout the interview, he answered the questions asked of him by Lauer.
"I've been humbled by the whole experience," Brown told Lauer. "From me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is – but most importantly, you know, knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath and being able to apologize to, you know, Rihanna and be that man that can be who is a man, you know?"
While Brown's fans thought Lauer was asking the singer inappropriate questions, others criticized the host for being too soft on his guest.
"You know when the Today show is desperate for viewers when they interview and sympathize with Chris Brown," one person tweeted.
Although various spectators had mixed reactions to the interview, many people agreed that the interview seemed uncomfortable for both Brown and Lauer. A number of media outlets deemed the interview "awkward."

The official Comedy Central Twitter account poked fun of the exchange between the pair, which some believed to be a joke.
