Mayim Bialik Divorce: Big Bang Theory's Amy Farrah Fowler Finalizes Divorce From Michael Stone
Mayim Bialik's divorce from husband of nine years, Michael Stone, has been finalized quietly this week, with both sides agreeing to the divorce settlement without issue.
The Big Bang Theory actress and her husband, announced that they were divorcing in November, citing irreconcilable differences. However, unlike many other couples in Hollywood, they did not drag their divorce out with a public settlement dispute, but amicably agreed upon the terms of their split, even reportedly dividing their property evenly.
According to TMZ, Bialik and her now ex-husband decided simply to each take one of their two properties in California. Bialik will reportedly take the couple's hillside 1,400-square-foot, one bedroom home in Studio City.
Meanwhile, Stone took their 1,300-square-foot, three bedroom home in nearby Sherman Oaks.
The couple married on August 31, 2003, in a Victorian-themed ceremony with traditional Jewish customs.
Stone was in fact born into a Mormon family but converted to Judaism along with Bialik.
The pair have two sons together: Miles, who was born in 2005, and Frederick, who was born in 2008.
The couple announced that they were divorcing in November 2012, citing irreconcilable differences.
In a 2012 interview, Bialik stated that she would call herself "aspiring Modern Orthodox
Bialik, who has a Ph.D. in neuroscience, has written on her blog, "Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly."
She added, "The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose.
"The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. We will be ok."
