McDonalds Reddit Postings Reveal Drugs Claims But Absolutely No Messing With Food
A Reddit IamA post by a McDonald's employee this week has drawn huge amounts of attention as people try to find out what goes on behind the scenes at the world's biggest fast food joint.
IAmA threads and AMA threads are famous for their revealing, no holding back details and stories, and this posting was no different. The author speaks openly about staff parties and also worrying that it was allegedly common practice for McDonald's workers to deal marijuana from restaurant locations. That obviously is an alarming claim, and McDonald's would not have been happy with such a claim.
However, even though the drugs revelation might have been the most shocking detail to some, others were most surprised by something else. The poster, who appeared to be speaking with blunt honesty, stated that "contrary to popular belief, NOBODY (at our location, at least) would ever, ever mess with the food that is going to a customer."
That would be at least some compensation to McDonald's bosses, who will hope that goes to proving many doubters of the chain wrong.
The good news for McDonald's did not stop there either, the poster emphasized that, his branch at least, was always kept as clean as possible for its customers. He explained that the location was always cleaned every 10 minutes during opening hours.
McDonald's has replied to the popular IAmA, saying: "While this crew member is not a spokesperson for McDonald's, as with any job, I think we can all agree there are ups and downs, good days and bad. We believe these posts reflect that."
Due to the popularity of the Reddit McDonald's thread, it was moved to r/tabled, for more linear reading.
McDonald's is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, claiming to serve around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries. The American company was originally established in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant, but in 1948 they reorganized their business as a hamburger stand.
