Meagan Good Says God Helped Acting Career

Meagan Good, the 31-year-old Christian actress, recently revealed that God is the reason that she decided to pursue acting full time.

Good, the wife of preacher and Hollywood executive DeVon Franklin, recently played the lead role in the NBC series "Deception" and is gearing up to star in the comedic film "Anchorman 2." However, the actress made it clear that it wasn't always easy sticking with her craft.

"I grew up in Canyon Country, Calif. It's kind of small townish, 30 to 40 minutes outside of Hollywood," Good told Camloot.com recently. "And it was like 'oh you're not pretty enough, you're not tall enough, you're not light enough, you're not dark enough, you're not talented enough. All of those things."

Good revealed that a conversation with God helped her stick with acting despite the criticism she received.

"When I got about 19 I had a conversation with God and I was like 'is this what you want me to do,'" Good revealed to Camploot.com. "..Because if this is what you want me to do then I believe I'm going to make it."

At 31, Good has appeared in a number of films and television shows. While she said that imparting her knowledge on young women is important, the actress has continually glorified God when speaking about her success in the industry.

"I try to share a lot of what my personal experience has been…Definitely I've seen the ups and downs and I've been through a lot," Good told Camloot.com. "For me to be able to be where I am now i know it's because of God."

Although her series "Deception" has yet to be picked up for a second season, Good is currently filming "Think Like a Man 2" and "Anchorman 2."

The actress has been known to share the gospel on various social media accounts, and spoke about the importance of serving in the body of Christ earlier this year.

"Do you want to stand out? Then step down. Be a servant," Good wrote on WhoSay.com earlier this year. "If you puff yourself up, you'll get the wind knocked out of you. But if your content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty."
