Mega Millions Sept. 30, Friday Lottery Drawings Recap
During the last Mega Millions lottery draw, no one matched the five white balls. This would have given the player a default $1 million prize. Matching all of the five white balls is the highest prize in Mega Millions in the non-jackpot category. However, if the player opts for the Megaplier option, then the prize would have gone up to $5 million.
However, the official Mega Millions website has also indicated that there were 25 people who won the next tier. They have matched four white balls and the gold Mega Ball. They each got the default $5000 prize, but 2 people opted for the Megaplier option and each got $25,000 in total winnings instead.
Winning in Mega Millions
There is a total of nine ways to win in Mega Millions. The total prize amount is equivalent to how many winning numbers are matched by the player, and if the Megaplier option was utilized.
Aside from the jackpot and the two non-jackpot winnings mentioned above, there are 6 more prize tiers. Matching four white balls would result to a $500 prize. Next, matching three white balls with the gold Mega Ball gets the player $50.
$5 will be given to anyone who could match either three white balls or two white balls and the gold Mega Ball. There is a $2 prize for those who could match one white ball and the gold Mega Ball. The lowest prize is a dollar for matching the gold Mega Ball. Take note that all these prizes could be multiplied by the amount of which the Megaplier has been set to.
