Mega Millions Jackpot Prize for Sep. 9 is $111 Million
The Mega Millions jackpot prize has once again increased this week as no one was able to snag the $101 million jackpot last Sep. 6, Tuesday.
The winning numbers in the last Mega Millions drawing were 25, 37, 58, 69, 75. The yellow ball was 8 and the Megaplier was 3x. No one was able to match all the numbers and this is why the jackpot prize for Sep. 9, Friday is now $111 million with a one-time cash option of $76 million.

In the previous Mega Millions drawing, no one was able to snag the highest non-jackpot prize for matching all five white balls. The estimated amount would be $1 million which can be multiplied depending on the Megaplier number.

According to the official Mega Millions website, there were 14 winners who matched 4 white balls and the yellow ball. The default prize for that combination is $5000 and out of the 14, only 3 were able to triple their winnings for opting to play with the Megaplier. They won $15,000 each.
Mega Millions Scam Had Man Lost Thousands of Dollars
The Detroit News reported that a man from Holly Township lost thousands of dollars when he was scammed into thinking he won almost half a million dollars in the Mega Millions lottery. A person posing as an employee from the Mega Millions lottery contacted the man and stated that the man had won $450,000 in August of this year.
The man was told to send more than $900 to claim his Mega Millions prize. He sent an additional $2,400 and another $3,300 for the alleged check to his $450,000 prize. This was compounded by a suspicious call from a lawyer saying that he will represent the victim for sending money to a fake lottery. It is unknown how the "lawyer" was able to know of the victim's plight.
Lt. Mike Shaw, spokesperson for the Michigan State Police stated that citizens should be vigilant against scams, including Mega Millions and other types of lottery.
"Remember, if something doesn't seem right, it isn't. You will never have to pay money to receive lottery winnings and the police or IRS are not going to ask for a Green Dot card to be sent to a Third Party address," Lt. Shaw said. He added that scams are especially suspicious if you won something to a lottery you didn't buy.
