Update – September 16, 2016 – 11:00 p.m. ET: The winning numbers for Friday's Mega Millions jackpot are 13, 21, 28, 34, 40 and the megaball is 15. The Megaplier is 3x.
No one was able to win the jackpot in the Mega Millions drawing last Sept. 13, Tuesday.
The winning numbers in the last Mega Millions drawing were 6, 15, 17, 39 and 56. The yellow ball was 15 and the Megaplier was 3x. The Mega Millions jackpot for Sept. 16 has increased to $133 million with a cash option of $89 million.

Along with no jackpot winner in the last Mega Millions drawing, no one was able to match five white balls which would have given the winner the biggest non-jackpot prize of $1 million. There is also another chance to multiply the winnings via the Megaplier option.
However, according to the official Mega Millions website, there were 36 winners who successfully matched four white balls and the yellow ball. In that number, 5 people opted for the Megaplier option and increased their winnings from $5,000 to $15,000.
The lowest possible prize that can be won in the Mega Millions lottery is $1, which is simply matching the yellow ball. There are a total of nine ways to win including matching all numbers in the lottery to win the Mega Millions jackpot prize.
Mega Millions Drawing
The Mega Millions drawing is held twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday at 11PM. The five white lottery numbers are drawn from a pit of numbered balls with numbers 1 to 75. Another yellow ball is drawn from a pit of numbered balls 1 to 15.
How to Win in the Mega Millions
There are nine ways to win in the Mega Millions drawing. Matching all five white balls and the red ball will give the winner the jackpot prize. The second highest prize of $1 million can be won by matching all five white balls. The next highest prize is by matching four white balls and the yellow ball for $5,000.
Another way to win in the Mega Millions drawing is by matching only four white balls for only $500. Matching three white balls and the yellow ball will give a prize of $50. Those who can match only three balls will only get $5 and it goes the same for matching two white balls and the yellow ball. Those who match one of the white balls and the yellow ball will get $2 and finally, those who match only one white ball will only get $1. Any non-jackpot prize has the chance of being increased via the Megaplier.
