Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have decided to go their separate ways after being together for a total of 11 years.

The former couple decided six months ago to end their five-year marriage. A source close to them said Megan Fox decided to break up with Brian Austin Green, according to Us Weekly.

Fox and Green's journey as a married couple has been a rocky one. The specific reason for their separation, however, remains unconfirmed.

"Megan and Brian have decided to separate. They will always love each other very much and are devoted to their kids," an insider tells People. "Anything could happen in the future, but for now they've decided it's best to take some time apart."

Fox and Green have been living separately for several months already. The two were last spotted eating together in Beverly Hills on June 9, the report adds.

The Hollywood couple have two children together: Noah, 2, and Bodhi, 18 months. Green, on the other hand, has a 13-year-old son named Kassius from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil.

Fox was just 18 when she began her relationship with Green, who appeared as a guest on "Hope & Faith" in 2004. At the time, Fox said their chemistry was like "magic."

However, things took a different turn in February 2009 when Green canceled their three-year engagement. Fox, who was 23 at that time, said marriage was not a "realistic goal" for her. Green proposed again in June 2010 and they got hitched in Hawaii after 24 days, the report details.

"I've never been more sure of anything in my life," Green said during their beachside wedding. "It was the absolute perfect start to what we hope will be an amazing life together."

Last year, Fox told Men's Health in an interview that there are no perfect relationships because there will be times when a couple does not get along or communicate well. Despite the rough patches in their relationship and their vast differences, the actress said Green was her "soul mate."
