Meizu Pro 6 News: Latest Chinese Smartphone Gathers Best Features of Other Phones
The roster of Chinese smartphones that challenge the bigger and more popular brands has become even stronger and better with Meizu's unveiling of its latest smartphone, Meizu Pro 6. While it is true that the latest Meizu Android phone doesn't have anything new to offer the public in terms of design, as it is cased in an aluminum handset as well just like other smartphones, it is not to be ignored as it compresses the inspirations it got from other smartphones into one single device.
One feature of Meizu Pro 6 that may not be original but is sensible is its 3D Press, a feature that imitates the iPhone's 3D Touch, that does not only imitate the appearance of the original but its function, too. However, it is not the only feature that Meizu Pro 6 has taken inspiration from Apple as it also comes with a Cirrus Logic CS43L36 chip in its bid to give the phone an impressive audio. Incidentally, the technology is provided by the same company responsible for the iPhone's audio components.
Meizu Pro 6's inspiration doesn't come from Apple alone as the 7.25 mm thick Meizu Pro 6 also uses the technology of other brands for some of its important features; it has also inked a business deal with Sony as it brings a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 sensor to its Pro 6. However, the assembly of the lens and the construction of the entire module have been customized in order to make the whole thing thinner. The Meizu Pro 6 camera has also been equipped with phase-detect autofocus and new image-processing algorithms, enabling it to focus in just a fraction of a second.
While it is true that the phone is no original in many noticeable aspects, it has some distinguishing features, too, especially its 10-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor. It also boasts of a 5.2-inch, 1080p Super AMOLED screen, 4 gigabytes of RAM, a USB-C port, and 32 gigabytes of default storage. Its quick charge feature may be common, but, with the phone's ability to fully charge a dead battery in an hour's time is one thing that it can take pride in.
The Meizu Pro 6 is now available for pre-order in China with a $390 price tag for a 32-gigabyte model and $430 for 64 gigabytes unit.
