Meredith Vieira Drops Expletive on 'Today' Show
Well-known talk show host Meredith Vieira had an unfortunate slip of the tongue while substituting for Kathie Lee Gifford as host of the fourth hour of NBC's "Today" show on Jan. 3.
Vieira, accompanied by fellow "Today" host Hoda Kotb, was preparing to interview fellow journalist Al Roker while simultaneously juggling her information cards and a smoothie drink when she dropped one of the cards on the floor.
She then said, "Oh [expletive]," before quickly covering her mouth and issuing her apologies to her viewers.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry," said Vieira, evidently embarrassed by her gaffe.
"Just go ahead and put it on Gawker immediately," fellow host Kotb joked.
"Little late for the bleep," Kotb added, as those behind the cameras attempted to bleep out Vieira's curse a few seconds too late.
This isn't the first time Vieira has let a curse word fly, according to The Inquisitr.
In 2010, Vieira, who was then a co-host of the "Today" show, was apparently engaging in a driving simulation to show the dangers of texting while driving. When her vehicle simulated a crash, Vieira once again yelled the same profanity.
Celebrities have, in the past, accidentally cursed on live television, an act which could possibly merit a substantial fine from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
For example, in a December cameo on the live sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live," actor Samuel L. Jackson blurted out both the "F-word" along with another expletive, prompting "SNL" cast member Kenan Thompson to respond: "That costs money!"
Vieira, 59, is a former host of the "Today" show and currently contributes to "Dateline NBC" and "Rock Center with Brian Williams."
