Players can expect to encounter full customization and an extensive inventory, which will include new weapons, cosmetic gear, and stealth items. They will also find a number of surprise situations from the environment around them, as well as from enemy AI.

"Metal Gear Online" offers three characters, each equipped with their own gear for a variety of different scenarios. Players will also get to choose from three classes with several perks and weapons: a Scout who can mark enemies easily, an Enforcer with access to ammo and armor, and an Infiltrator with camouflage abilities.

The three game modes also offer players a wide range of gameplay options: the Comm Control where one team loosens a defending team's hold on certain areas, the Bounty Hunter whose objective is to eliminate enemy players, and the Cloak and Dagger which uses non-lethal weapons for close-quarters combat.

"Metal Gear Online" is free to download at the game's online store, with servers now up for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with UK first getting the patch. The competitive online multiplayer is scheduled to be downloadable for PC in 2016

The main game, "Metal Gear Online V: The Phantom Pain" was initially launched in September 1 to universal acclaim. The game represents video game developer, Hideo Kojima's last title in the popular "Metal Gear" series.
