'Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain' Release Date News: Delay Moves Game to Winter 2015?

The release date for "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" is said to be further along than fans of the game are expecting.

The highly awaited action adventure and stealth game from Kojima Productions is said to be looking at a November 2015 launch for PC, PS4 and Xbox One instead of an earlier release this year as initially speculated.

The video game, which follows the adventures of mercenary boss, Venom Snake as he journeys into Afghanistan and Africa to exact vengeance on the enemies who decimated his forces in the preceding game, "MGS 4: Ground Zeroes," is slated to incur heavy competition from Rockstar's "GTA 5."

In light of that supposed rivalry, Kojima has reportedly pushed back "MGS 5: Phantom Pain" to November to give the developers more time to add additional content to "Phantom Pain."

The delayed release has geared fans of game to expect a more dynamic title filled to the brim with content. "MGS 4" has portrayed Big Boss Snake riding on his customized Metal Gear, hiring people to learn different languages, using a heavily armored box, and even washing the blood off his clothing.

With the pressure put on "Phantom Pain" to surpass "GTA 5," the team in charge of the fifth game may be facing a huge amount of work to get "MGS 5" ready to step up to the plate. According to sources, the game has just entered its editing phase, and fans may have to sit back on their heels until winter for its official release.

According to a statement released by game designer, Hideo Kojima published on Movie Pilot, "MGSV 5" will be less of a linear game and more an "open-world free infiltration" one, giving players enough freedom to be spontaneous.

Issues have been cropping up that the developers are currently resolving in order to keep the game's level of freedom constant throughout.

With the added improvements and upgraded gameplay in the works, fans will just have to exercise patience and anticipate the promise of "Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain's" November release.
