Miami Heat News: Wade, Bosh leads team to victory against Sacramento Kings

The heroics of three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade and ten-time NBA All-Star Chris Bosh was what led the Miami Heat to victory against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

In a report by CBS Sports, the Heat defeated the Kings with a score of 116-109, with the latter missing the services of star DeMarcus Cousins, who is serving a one-game suspension for hitting the head of Atlanta Hawks big man Al Horford.

Losing Horford provided a hefty advantage for head coach Erik Spoelstra and the Heat. According to him, the 29-year old player was a vital cog in the Kings' rotation. '

'Obviously, they were missing a major piece of what they do,'' Spoelstra said.

This was agreed upon by Heat center Hassan Whiteside, who had the opportunity to play with Cousins when they were teammates in Sacramento from 2010-2012.

''He's one of the best bigs in the NBA so I'd have liked to take that challenge on and really compete against him,'' he said.

Wade, who is averaging 10.8 points per game on 32.7 per cent field goal shooting, contributed 24 points and six assists, while Bosh put in 23 points and 11 rebounds. For Wade, what led to his success on this particular night was when he decided to let go of his point guard mentality and began to take in more of a scorer's role.

''I just felt that I needed to be more aggressive offensively. Sometimes I got into the mode of too much playmaking and maybe my shot became second nature and today I just tried to flip it," Wade explains.

Spoelstra adds that he did not mind if the team did not put on a good performance on he defensive end, as long as they were able to flourish offensively.

''It was not one of our better defensive performances of the season, but there was some better execution of some of the things we've been working on offensively."

The Heat will be playing against the Phildelphia 76ers on Saturday night, at home.
