Miami Heat Rumors: Gerald Green to Stay in Team, Mario Chalmers Traded to Grizzlies?

Miami Heat basketball player Gerald Green is reported to return to the team soon after being hospitalized. His illness had caused him to miss the past four games. According to Sun Sentinel, the reason for his hospitalization has not been disclosed to the public leaving fans greatly curious as to what happened to him.

HNGN detailed that Green was brought to the hospital after being found unconscious and bleeding in his condo. The Miami Heat team are tight-lipped on the reason of the hospitalization but head coach Erik Spoelstra gave an update saying that the pro basketball player is now "safe and healthy" and also mentioned that they have been in contact with him regularly.

However, speculations of releasing Green from the team started surfacing. This offseason, the 29-year-old player signed a one year deal with the team for the league minimum. He was supposed to be the major scorer for the team. He has gained an average of 10.3 points through three games and shooting 32 percent from the field. There's no specific date yet on when Green will return to the basketball court for the Miami Heat but it seems as though he is set to stay despite rumors of releasing him.

In other news, Green is not the only one being rumored to leave the team. According to a report by Realty Today, Miami Heat is trying to cut off their luxury tax bill. Reports state that they are trying to trade Mario Chalmers who earns $4.3 million, for the 2015-2016 season.

The rumor has been around for some time but it resurfaced last week when ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the Heat and Grizzlies have started discussions around a trade involving Chalmers. If the rumors are true, the two teams will make a good deal since Heat will need to reduce their luxury-tax bill while the Grizzlies need someone like Chalmers.
