These two teams have built a good rivalry as they have met in the NBA Finals twice, with each team getting a title over the other in recent years.

And despite the teams looking slightly different than they once were when they battled for the championship, this match is still one of the more exciting battles as there are still remnants of their lory days present on their clashes.
At the moment, the teams are enjoying relatively good seasons as the Mavericks are at 19-13 and second in the Southwest Division in the Western Conference. They are only behind the San Antonio Spurs in the standings while the Mavericks are trying to fend off challenges by the Memphis Grizzlies, the Houston Rockets and the New Orleans Pelicans for the second spot in the group.
On the other hand, the Heat are third in the Southeast Division in the East with a 18-13 record. However, they are not that far off from the top that is currently being held by the Atlanta Hawks.
The Heat are only 1.5 games behind and only half a game behind the Orlando Magic who are second in the division.
This is the first of two total meetings the teams have in the regular season and look for them to try and get wins over the other in the first time they clash this season.
The Heat will be led by Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh who are very familiar with the Mavericks, while Dallas will be behind their leader Dirk Nowitzki who has also had a lot of classic clashes with the Heat in his time.
