Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Finals 2012 Result 121-106; LeBron James MVP

The Miami Heat have won Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 Thursday night to become NBA Champions 2012. The Heat overwhelmed the Thunder throughout the game and it was clear to see that there was only going to be one winner well before the end of the game. The Heat win the series 4-1 and take the prestigious title.

LeBron James can finally say he is a champion, and he was awarded the MVP award for the series. Not many can argue with that; James has led from the front for Miami and has been the main monkey wrench in the Thunder's plan to the championship.

Dwyane Wade won his second championship, and the second championship for the Heat.

The Heat could not stop scoring threes all night and in fact tied the record with 14 threes made in the game. Mike Miller made seven of those threes, and his contribution ensured the Heat were always an arms distance away from the Thunder.

With minutes left Lebron James and Dwyane Wade left the game and took a seat, and as they made their way off court they received a rapturous applause from the home fans. They have been the central two players for Miami throughout the five games, and the Heat fans let them know their appreciation.

The Thunder have a young side, and although they will be disappointed they will surely have their chance again in the coming years if they can keep the side together. It will have been a tough learning experience for many of their players, but they will get all the more stronger from the lessons they have learned here.

But undoubtedly this was the Heat's day and year, and in particular LeBron James' moment has finally arrived.
