Michael Cavallari's Cause Of Death, Latest News: Details On Death Of Kristin Cavallari's Brother Emerge

While it is still uncertain whether or not he committed suicide, authorities in Utah now believe that Michael Cavallari, the brother of "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach" alumni Kristin Cavallari and the brother-in-law of NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, may have perished due to exposure to the elements.

"There were no signs of major trauma and no suicide note," officials said, according to E! Online. "Cops did not find any evidence of drugs or alcohol either," they added.

Cavallari was reported missing in late November following the discovery of his abandoned car off Interstate 70 in Utah. According to Access Hollywood, Grand County Sheriff Steven White said that Cavallari was found through the combined efforts of ground and canine search teams. He also reported that about 30 individuals were part of the search on the day Cavallari was found.

Sheriff White also said that the final cause of death cannot be determined until the autopsy is completed and toxicology tests are performed. The Utah medical examiner will also have to confirm that the person found is indeed Cavallari. White said that people may have to wait up to two months for the results.

Nighttime temperatures in the area where Cavallari was found was reportedly at or below freezing levels in the period of time that his car was discovered in a small embankment on Nov. 27. According to White, based on the evidence, the car hit some big rocks which caused the air bags to deploy. Cavallari's laptop and phone were found inside the car.

"I don't know what his mental state might have been, with possible hypothermia," Sheriff White said.

Michael Cavallari was single and had no children.

"My heart is in a million pieces," Kristin Cavallari captioned an Instagram photo of her and brother Michael as toddlers. She wrote: "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."
