Michael Jackson Death Anniversary Produces Tributes From Entertainment Community

Four years ago today Michael Jackson was pronounced dead and every year fans gather to celebrate the anniversary of the entertainer's death.

The King of Pop died four years ago at the age of 50 and his doctor Conrad Murray would be eventually found responsible for the singer's death.

Hailed as the King of Pop, Jackson died on June 25, 2009 from cardiac arrest after propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication. His death was later ruled as involuntary manslaughter with Jackson's personal physician, Conrad Murray, charged with the crime.

The music icon's death at age 50 was met with an outpouring of grief and remembrance that extends until today. Each year, social media outlets are flooded with messages on the anniversary of his death.

Twitter user Vince posted the inspiration he gained from Jackson, posting, "I will live today to the fullest, in the name of #MichaelJackson. He's the entertainer every performer strives to be. RIP Michael Jackson."

Spike Lee, film director, producer and actor, also tweeted his condolences to the late singer.

"On this day, June 25, in the year of our Lord 2009 Michael Jackson left us in his physical state," Lee tweeted. "May the almighty continue to bless him."

Jackson is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest-earning deceased artist. He is well known for hit songs that include "Thriller," "Billie Jean," and "Beat It," among many others.

He left behind daughter Paris and sons Michael Joseph Jackson, also known as Prince and Blanket Jackson. Paris has also made headlines recently for negative reasons after it became known that she tried to commit suicide and is reportedly currently seeking treatment for depression.
