Michael Jackson 'Glee' Episode Sneak Peek (VIDEO)
FOX has released photos from "Glee's" upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode.
The Golden Globe-nominated television series will pay homage to the former pop star in the Jan. 31, episode with the New Directions singing songs such as "Wanna Be Startin' Something," "Smooth Criminal," "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," and The Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye," among others.
Some of the "Glee" cover songs have already leaked, and the tracks may be officially released in the coming weeks.
The photos from the special episode include each member of the New Directions dressed in the many iconic outfits belonging to Michael Jackson during his career.
Rumors of the tribute episode broke in December, and indicated that "Glee" character Santana would sing "Smooth Criminal." Also, it is rumored that New Direction's rival group the Warblers would be singing "Bad" while in an abandoned parking garage.
The leaked details also revealed that the New Directions would take to a large stage backlit with the name "Michael" while singing the smash hit "Wanna Be Startin' Something."
According to the Huffington Post, "Glee" star Kevin McHale said the scene was "incredible."
"The one number we did where everybody wore a different Michael outfit was just incredible, it was like everybody liked somebody else's more than their own," said McHale, who plays Artie on the show. "We had no idea what everybody was going to wear until we got to set and were like, 'Oh my God! Look at yours!' We were all just freaking out."
The tribute is not the first time FOX's hit cast has covered the music of the late pop star. Last year "Glee" featured a cover of MJ's "Thriller" ahead of the Super Bowl.
