'Michael Jackson's Halloween' Airs on CBS Later In October 2017

CBS has recently announced the premiere date of "Michael Jackson's Halloween," a TV special that is set to air later this month.

Several days ago, CBS posted social media updates and the official trailer of "Michael Jackson's Halloween" to announce that the anticipated animated TV special would be shown on the network soon.

However, as of this writing, the said Twitter update and trailer posted on YouTube have apparently been taken down by the network.

According to the show's synopsis, the story will focus on the "accidental" meeting of millennials Vincent (Lucas Till) and Victoria (Kiersey Clemons) during Halloween night. The story's main plot will follow them -- along with a dog named Ichabod -- "at a mysterious hotel" called This Place Hotel with address 777 Jackson Street, which is a clear reference to the late pop icon.

Vincent and Victoria's curiosity brings them inside the said hotel where they will meet "an unexpected, magical adventure of personal discovery."

All throughout the TV special, popular music by Jackson will be featured. The synopsis also hinted that fans will see an animated version of the late singer "in a spectacular dance finale."

The release of the one-hour animated TV special was first confirmed in July, and its official announcement on the network's site has been updated a bit.

Meanwhile, reports that were able to catch a glimpse of the video preview shared that the taken down trailer showed fans a glimpse of several other references to Jackson's known creations. For example, a stained glass in one of the scenes was reportedly very reminiscent to the cover art on Jackson's "Dangerous" album released in 1991.

The "Michael Jackson's Halloween" also stars Jim Parsons, Lucy Liu, Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming, George Eads and Brad Garnett. Meanwhile, director Mark A.Z. Dippé -- who is known for animated features "The Boxcar Children" and "The Reef 2: Hight Tide" -- also helmed the upcoming Jackson-themed Halloween special.

"Michael Jackson's Halloween" premieres on Friday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
