Michael Schumacher Condition Latest News: F1 Driver in Lausanne to Continue Recovery, Son Following Father's Footsteps
Michael Schumacher, the former F1 champion, seems to be recovering well from his head injury he sustained during his skiing trip in the French Alps. The accident happened in December and put Schumacher into a coma for six-months in the French hospital. Only recently was he allowed to transfer to Lausanne to continue his recovery there.
Michael's rehabilitation takes place not far from his home in Gland, some 40km from the hospital. Updates regarding his recovery have been scarce. A short statement made by his manager Sabine Khem told of a "difficult road ahead," as well as a request for a respect for privacy and that speculations about his health be avoided.
Still, considering the severity of his injury, at least some progress has been made.

Meanwhile, Michael's son Mick Schumacher is looking to follow in his father's footsteps after he was crowned World Karting Vice-champion last Sunday. The young Schumacher also finished as a runner-up to British Enaam Ahmed in FIA's KF Junior category at the World Championships in Essay, France.
Mick had taken up the name of Mick Jr. this season and only finished six seconds behind Ahmed in the grand finals, managing to stand alongside him in the podium during the awards ceremony.
"Of course I am proud of such an important result. But it is also clear that it is my goal to be world champion. This is only the beginning of my career." Schumacher said.
Mick still has a long way to go if he wants to match the exploits of his father during his long racing career. His father had broken numerous world records prior to claiming the seven world titles with Ferrari.
