Michael Vick Will Return Against Giants on Sunday
After speculation stemming from a concussion at the Eagles’ Week 2 game against the Falcons, Michael Vick has been cleared to play in Sunday’s game against the Giants.
ESPN reporter Sal Paolantonio’s inside sources confirmed that the quarterback would be a starter in the game if everything went well before the matchup on Sunday. On Friday, Vick said he felt ready to play.
“I feel good,'' Vick said Friday, according to ESPN reports. "I feel great and ready to play, nothing feels different. So I feel like I've worked myself back into good condition and playing shape and I'm ready to go."
Jeremy Maclin, Philadelphia Eagles’ wide receiver seemed confident in Vick after working with him in practice last Thursday.
"He looked good, he looked fine," Maclin said, according to ESPN. "In control of the huddle, in control of what was going on, in control of the offense. He's in good shape."
Maclin admitted that the team needed their star QB.
"He's our leader, so obviously it'll help us and give us the best chance to win," Maclin said. "Obviously, we want him out there."
After returning to practice on Thursday, Eagles’ coach Andy Reid seemed confident in Vick’s ability to perform on Sunday.
"If he's OK on game day, then he plays on game day. I'll tell you, he's been sharp," Reid said according to The Boston Herald. "That's the best way I can sum it up. He's done a very nice job in managing everything. He's done good."
Vick did not seem to have any doubts about his ability to play on Sunday.
"There's no reason to think that I won't play on Sunday," Vick said. "I've had two good days of practice. I'm optimistic I'll be able to go out there and very excited to play."
