Michelle Duggar Says Conception 'Not Totally Impossible but Most Unlikely' After Visit to OB-GYN
Michelle Duggar, 47, still wants to have children and to that effect, has visited an OB-GYN to learn of her odds of conceiving naturally. While the odds are slim, Duggar trusts God to bless her with children and be in control of her future.
"Conception is not totally impossible, but most unlikely," Duggar says in the newest episode of "19 Kids & Counting."
Michelle already has 19 children ranging in age from 4 to 25 but is excited to have more, if that is in God's plans. The youngest Duggar was born prematurely but defied the odds and is now happy and healthy at home with her brothers and sisters. Michelle and husband Jim Bob have always said that they would trust God to provide for them and their family and made the decision not to use contraception but to put everything in God's hands.
The two made the decision after the birth of eldest child Josh. Michelle got pregnant while on birth control and suffered a miscarriage. After that, the two conferred and decided to not use contraception but accept any and all children God gave them. Since then, they have welcomed 19 children; another child was stillborn and the family publicly mourned for their little girl, who they named Jubilee.
"We've always put this in God's hands," Jim Bob adds in the show, "and if God wants to give us more children, we are going to be happy either way."
The couple is busy planning daughter Jill's wedding, which will take place in June. Most likely she and her fiancé will exchange vows in the same manner of those her brother Josh exchanged with his bride, Anna. They vowed to accept any and all children God blessed them with and not do anything to prevent pregnancy. Josh and Anna already have three children and hope to have more.
The Duggar family has always put its faith in God for both the small and large things in life. Their show, "19 Kids & Counting," airs on TLC on Tuesday nights.
