Michelle Obama Hair: New Natural Hair Photo Makes Waves

Through all the years of her husband's administration, Michelle Obama has kept her hair straight. Recently, however, the former First Lady has been photographed with her hair in its natural, curly state, causing an unexpected stir from fans.

By coincidence, or maybe not, a photo of the former First Lady surfaced on the same day that the White House released Melania Trump's official portrait on Monday, April 3. Like the current first lady, the undated picture of Michelle Obama became a source of discussion that day. The photo of the former First Lady was shared through the social media via Twitter and shows Michelle Obama outdoors, wearing sunglasses, with her hair tied back and noticeably curlier than it has ever been for the past eight years of the Obama administration.

Elle noted that in her years of stay in the White House, the former first lady has worn her hair every which way but natural — relaxed, blown out, pin-straight lob, pulled back or wavy. This could be the first time for many of her fans to see her hair in its natural state.

Online reaction came in waves even as her fans lauded her decision to embrace the textured, natural state of her hair. Hordes of fans have expressed their appreciation for Obama, some stating their admiration for how she seemingly makes a stand for women that wish to do away with the hair treatments that today's society could demand.

In her time in the White House, the former first lady garnered a huge following, especially online. According to The Independent, Michelle Obama has gained 7.6 million Twitter followers on top of the 11.9 million Instagram fans, and that's just ofor two of her social media accounts.
