Michelle Obama Reveals Prom Photo on 'Ellen' (VIDEO)

Michelle Obama revealed the prom dress she wore her senior year of high school while speaking with Ellen DeGeneres.

To mark the 1-year anniversary of her Joining Forces Initiative, the First Lady delivered and speech Monday from Jacksonville, Fla., before bringing in DeGeneres live via satellite.

The First Lady and DeGeneres continued to discuss the worthy cause, which the comedian proudly supports. They also recounted their previous push-up contest while honoring the families of military personnel, before comparing prom photos.

Mrs. Barack Obama revealed an image of her in a satin gold gown paired with short hair.

Of her prom garb, Obama said, "That split was a little high."

"I don't know if I'd let my kids go out with a split that high, so let's not show this to Malia and Sasha," she added, laughing.

Degeneres asked, "What, were you shopping at Pier 1or something?"

"You've never done the wicker chair shot," replied Mrs. Obama.

"No, I've seen the wicker chairs before but I didn't know it was standard," said the talk show host.

Of Degeneres' high school photo, the First Lady gasped, "Love the dress," of the plaid, collared prom wear.

"Thank you," replied DeGeneres. "That was a table cloth at one point."

Mrs. Obama's Joining Forces is an effort to educate and encourage people to take action in ensuring that military families have the support that they have earned.

Last month, the First Lady visited military families in Minnesota and praised the state's effort to support the families of servicemen and women before appearing on "The Late Show with David Letterman."

"I want to make sure that the rest of the nation understands how you work as a state, how your organizations come together, the needs of our military families and how organizations can serve them," she said during her visit.

The First Lady has appeared on popular talk shows in the past, including "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where she made headlines winning the push-up contest.

Promoting her "Let's Move" campaign, the 48-year-old completed 25 push-ups while on the talk show.
