Michelle Williams in the Illuminati? 'What Idiot Comes Up With This Stuff?' Singer Says
Michelle Williams, the 33-year-old gospel singer formerly of Destiny's Child, is defending herself against rumors that she is involved in a secret society.
After posting an older Instagram picture of herself for "Throwback Thursday" where social media users upload past pictures of themselves, some of her followers questioned why she was covering one eye in the photograph. Some followers speculated about Williams' involvement in an alleged secret society thought to be called Illuminati.
Once she caught wind of the speculation, the Christian singer was not amused.

"Apparently a picture of me with hair covering an eye symbolizes I'm a devil worshipper/Illuminati," Williams questioned on Twitter. "What idiot comes up with this stuff?"
She went on to re-tweet a message from a follower to prove her point which states, "These people are NUTS!!!! How is it a secret society and we know ALL the 'Secrets?' Smh"
Williams has had to endure her fair share of criticism and internet gossip. However, it seems she is ready to combat it by letting people know how important it is to pray for others instead of tear them down with negative words.
"What happened to praying and interceding for people instead of judging them? Just a question," Williams previously wrote on Twitter. "You'll never see a change in those you judge! They'll never wanna come to your church, or even wanna know the God you say you serve!"
It seemed Williams was addressing other Christian people who could potentially push people away with negative comments.
"A person will definitely give their life to Christ because LOVE draws them not your bitter, mean tongue/blog comments, etc," Williams previously exclaimed on Twitter.
The singer is not the only entertainer to defend herself against rumors that she is involved in a secret society. Reality star Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram account to wish her good friend and socialite Brittny Gastineau a happy birthday by using the shape of an eye inside of a triangle to create a photo collage last year. When some people began commenting on the image while questioning if Kardashian was promoting the Illuminati, she took to Twitter to provide and explanation while defending her Christian faith.
"I posted a IG collage for my bff @BrittGastineau & people say its the illuminate! What is the illuminate? (sic) A religion," Kardashian questioned on the social networking website. "I'm a Christian. A cult?...not into that sorry! It had an eye on it, which reminded me of Britt bc her company 'eye on glam' & reminds me of against evil eye bracelets we wear."
