Michelle Williams and Jason Segel have emerged together for the premiere of his latest film, "The Five Year Engagement."
The outing was the first time the two have been spotted out in public together since reports were released that they had raised their relationship to the next level.
Rumors emerged in mid-March stating that the two actors had been a couple for months already, and celebrity media sources were keen to snap the two together at The Five Year Engagement premiere. Despite the extra attention, the couple also remained together to attend an after-show party at New York's Museum of Modern Art.
The couple was seen holding hands speaking to other stars attending, including Elizabeth Banks, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Robert De Niro – who was hosting the premiere for his Tribeca Film Festival.
Segel told People Magazine at the premiere: "I hit my 30s and enough became enough. I put the puppets into a closet. I'm getting nice furniture."
The Five Year Engagement has received relatively good reviews, and reunites Segel with director Nicholas Stoller, who also worked on Segel's hit comedy movie "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." Segel's latest movie co-stars British actress Emily Blunt – and follows the amusing lives of a couple who promise to marry one another but find all sorts of obstacles in getting down the altar to take the final step.
American actress Michelle Williams has developed into one of Hollywood's top actresses, starring in Brokeback Mountain in 2005, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the Academy Awards. She has also won a Golden Globe Award in 2011 for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn; a part that also resulted in her third Academy Award nomination – a second nomination for Best Actress.
