Michelle Williams Releases New Gospel Music
Michelle Williams, one third of the R&B group Destiny's Child, is gearing up to release a gospel album and recently released her new single "If We Had Your Eyes."
Williams, 32, provided a link to the song for her fans on Twitter while also posting its lyrics to Facebook. In the ballad, the gospel music singer and actress spoke about having the eyes of God.
"People judge from what we see, but lord you see the heart," Williams sings in the song. "If we had your eyes, then we'd see things right. If we could just see from your point of view, than most things won't be what as seem..."
In the song, Williams sings about two situations where things are not what they seem. The first verse speaks about her helping a person asking for spare change in a life changing moment, while the second verse highlights the life of a woman whose life seems perfect despite the fact that she is going through personal issues.
The song produced by Harmony Samuels seemed to spark a positive reaction from fans on Twitter.
"That song is so beautifully sung and produced," one fan tweeted.
Another individual seemed to follow the same sentiments while receiving the Godly message from the song.
"I can see myself blasting if we had your eyes by @RealMichelleW. We see imperfections but God sees perfection..," the fan tweeted.
Although many know Williams from her stint with Destiny's Child, the gospel singer spoke about her choice to partake in the genre despite her success singing secular music in a previous interview with Billboard magazine.
"Some people will do gospel when their career fails, but I chose to do it at the height of the popularity of Destiny's Child," Williams told Billboard. "And I didn't want to do it because it was a fad. I wanted to do it because it's in me. It's in my heart."
Williams has previously said she believes that she is doing her part to be a witness for Jesus Christ.
"He places people in different parts (areas) for different reasons," Williams revealed in a previous interview with Philadelphia's Praise radio station 103.9. "We know he's coming back soon and I am doing my part to make sure that people know about Him."
"If We Had Your Eyes" is currently available for purchase on ITunes.
