Microsoft Lumia 850 Update: Alleged Renders Leaked, Suggests Smartphone to be the Thinnest Lumia Ever
It seems like the Redmond, Washington-based software giant is on the roll with bringing in new devices to their smartphone line. After the release of the Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL and Lumia 550, Microsoft may be working on releasing the highly rumored Lumia 850.
The Lumia 850, according to International Business Times, is said to be the successor of the Lumia 830 that was spoken about last year. But until now, the company has kept mum with its details and information. Some earlier reports have even said that the device was cancelled.
However, the recent ones says otherwise. Realty Today reported that alleged renders have surfaced online courtesty of serial leakster @OnLeaks. According to the leaked render, the Lumia 850 will come with a metal frame and its dimensions will be 155.9 x 77.23 x 6.92 (mm). This makes the rumored handset the thinnest Lumia that Microsoft has ever made to date. It's also similar to Apple's iPhone 6 which measures 6.9 mm in thickness.
GSM Arena also noted that serial tipster Evan Blass of @evleaks pitched in through a tweet saying that the handset will have a gold-colored trim and golden Microsoft logo. A front-facing flash is also expected. As of now, there is no confirmation coming from the company itself with regards to the leaks that have surfaced.
There is no telling also when it will come out but Yibada reported that it may arrive sometime in January or February 2016. Previous leaks also said that the Lumia 830 successor will carry with it a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip with an Adreno 306 GPU. Aside from that, it will have 1 GB of RAM and internal storage of 16 GB.
There's a possibility that it will come with a microSD slot to expand further the memory storage. It will sport a 5-inch display screen with 768 x 1280 pixel resolution. As for its camera specs, the Lumia 850 is expected to have the same 10-megapixel rear camera with PureView and Zeiss optics. It may also feature an enhanced camera sensor as noted in the leaked render which shows a protruding camera module.
