Microsoft Surface 5 Rumor: Rechargeable Stylus Among the Features?

Despite the fact that Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 was only released in the market in October last year, gadget lovers and techies are already speculating as to how the brand's Surface Pro 5 will be any different from its predecessor once it hits the market. One of the persistent rumors going around about the yet-to-be-released device is that Microsoft might include an innovative stylus pen in the Surface Pro 5.

While it is true that the current Surface already has a stylus, the one that is in store for the buyers of the Surface Pro 5 is more advanced. Rumors have it that the stylus will be powered by a rechargeable battery.

According to Windows Central, the reason behind the supposed move of Microsoft to introduce a rechargeable stylus pen in its Surface 5 is not really clear, at least, not yet. After all, Windows Central opined, that a single AAAA battery can already go a long way for users, lasting between 6 months and a year. The website can only suspect that it may be a move to prevent what happened to Apple's stylus from happening to its own stylus, or the Surface pen may need more power for it to carry out its functions.

The website further said that apart from being rechargeable, the pen will be charged from a magnetic portion of the Surface 5, which will also serve as its dock, hitting two birds with one stone, so to speak. It is also speculated that the pen will have, at least, one terminal made of ferromagnetic material for its charging.

Apart from the earlier rumors that the Surface 5 will be lighter than the Surface 4 and will come with a fingerprint scanner, this speculation about the stylus pen is surely an additional reason for gadget lovers and techies to look forward to Surface 5.

Meanwhile, based on the reports of Forbes, Microsoft was able to rake in 1.6 million worth of sales from its Surface range during the last quarter of 2015. The article opined that, while Surface is yet to get the support and trust of the market and pales in comparison with the products of Apple, it is on its way to giving iPad Pro a run for its money, thanks to its constantly improving reputation on engineering and design skills, innovative technologies, and viable alternatives for its consumers.
