Microsoft Surface Book 2: Porsche Design Book One Provides a Glimpse of Microsoft's Next-Gen Laplet

As the wait for the Microsoft Surface Book 2 continues, Porsche Design presents fans of the device with an alternative with its very own Book One.

The notebook was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 and from what has been shown so far, this offering will certainly give the Microsoft Surface Book 2 a run for its money.

According to The Verge, the Porsche Design Book One looks, feels and even weighs a lot like the Microsoft Surface Book. While it has a unique hinge, the technology used in it takes that of Microsoft to the next level.

This hinge will allow users to push the laptop display to 360 degrees for its tablet mode. It also detaches from the keyboard much like how the one on the Microsoft Surface Book would work — holding down a button on the side until it pops out.

When put together again, users will see no gap between the display and the keyboard. Porsche Design, however, added a special touch in the form of rubber stoppers, which will help preserve the premium, scratch-free look of the laptop as users switch to various modes of the Book One.

The Verge says that this sort of hinge technology might actually be what Microsoft has been planning to use on the hinge of its very own Microsoft Surface Book 2.

Interestingly, Microsoft actually helped Porsche in building this sleek new laptop. With that in mind, Tech Radar suggests that the tech giant might have something bigger in store for the Microsoft Surface Book 2.

The idea that it helped the supercar maker build its first laplet with the use of exciting new technology they could have used on their own laptop offering, this confidence has many believing that the Microsoft Surface Book 2 might have something more to offer.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is yet to be official, but it is expected to be released in the coming months.
