The new Windows smartphone will be released by Microsoft on October 26 in an event held in New York City. This new smartphone is called the Surface Phone. It comes in 3 variations and is primarily targeted towards people in the corporate and business world.
According to recent reports and rumors, the Windows Surface Phone is expected to deliver and be one of the big names in the smartphone market; at par with Samsung smartphones and Apple's iPhones. With the Surface phone, Microsoft has the capacity to recover from the not so impressive showing of the Lumia.
The Windows Surface Phone is rumored to be loaded with cool features. It is also focused on productivity and has added extra emphasis on security. Despite these rumors, official statements from the company itself have not yet arrived. Still, the Microsoft Surface Phone is one of the most talked about and highly-anticipated devices today.
Specs
According to rumors, the Microsoft Surface Phone variants are the following: enthusiast edition, business model and consumer model. A base model will come with 64 GB internal storage and 4GB RAM, although reports have also stated that a 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage version will also be available.
The Microsoft Surface Phone will have a 20 MP rear camera that utilizes a Carl Zeiss lens. It will run on Windows 10 Redstone OS and utilize a Kaby Lake processor.
Rumors say the Surface Phone will come with other accessories that will make it suitable for business-type functionalities. These are the Surface pen and the removable keyboard.
Mobile Continuum
The Windows Surface Phone will also be coming with the Mobile Continuum feature. According to the Windows Website, "Continuum turns your phone into a big-screen projector and a big-time productivity tool. Use a dock or adapter to connect to a TV or monitor, then use your apps and see your content on a larger screen."
Contents on your Windows smart phone can also be viewed on a Windows 10 PC via Continuum without the need of a dock or an adapter. Basically, with the help of additional hardware, your phone will become like a PC with the help of Continuum.
Price and Release Date
Rumors speculate that the Windows Surface Phone will be priced between $699 - $1,100. The base model will be worth $699 while the version with the highest specs will be around $1,099. Release date is varied, with some saying the new smart phone will arrive next month, while others say consumers will have to wait until March of next year.
