Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs Rumors: March Earliest Possibility of Launch

The mobile industry followers are still waiting for the next word on the Surface Pro 5, since Microsoft has not announced the device at last month's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. While some expectations were understandably dashed to the ground, hopeful speculation also points to March as the earliest 2017 launch date for the highly anticipated device.

The February Mobile World Congress 2017 has come and gone, with the disappointing realization for Surface Pro fans that Microsoft has wrapped up the event without a single word on news of the device. Hopeful rumors still point to a March release, or at least a Spring 2017 announcement, as helpfully offered by a PC Advisor coverage.

Any supporting information on this rumor that the Surface Pro 5 might launch this March is still out there somewhere between the conflicting, unconfirmed reports circulating on the internet. Until official word from Microsoft puts a final date once and for all for the release date of the device, Surface Pro fans will have to content themselves with the occasional speculation on the possible release date of the much-coveted hybrid device.

Keeping the hope alive for an earlier launch of the Surface Pro is a recent leak reported by WinCentral. While their feature mentions the often-repeated forecast that the Surface Pro 5 will be launched by Microsoft in time with its Windows 10 Creators Update, the more interesting report are some possible sightings of progress on the device.

One such leak is the apparent slip up that mentioned the Surface Pro 5 on a LinkedIn profile. While it has already been changed, Twitter user WalkingCat managed to catch a screenshot of the LinkedIn post before it has been edited. The LinkedIn profile by product designer Toby Fitch mentioned that he has worked on Microsoft products that include the elusive Surface Pro 5.
