'Middle-Earth: Shadow of War' Now Available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Monolith Productions' expansive action adventure game "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" is now available for different platforms.

Gamers can now try out the visceral swordplay and groundbreaking Nemesis System of "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" on PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4), and Xbox One. For those who are still unsure on what to buy, Tom's Guide offers a comprehensive discussion of the differences between the three versions of the action-adventure game. According to the website, the one for the Xbox One is arguably the best out of the bunch.

The Xbox version of "Shadow of War" is reportedly the "best-looking" among the three. When it arrives on the new Xbox One X, which is set for release in November, gamers will get to explore the world of the Orcs in 4K HDR. The fact that it is an Xbox Play Anywhere game is a plus since players can just purchase a single digital copy and play it on both on the console and Windows PC. Design director Bob Roberts previously talked about how "Shadow of War" would play on the Xbox One X.

"Yeah, it's a crazy powerful box, it will be the prettiest possible version of the game among consoles. We have some devkits which also load a lot faster, while in development it's extra nice to load a giant world in a matter of seconds so we can iterate faster. But it will also have faster loading times for players, I think that one of the big things in this console generation is that we got a lot more memory, but in a lot of games I played loading times got longer rather than shorter. It's nice to see them push on this side of the technology," he mentioned.

Meanwhile, the PS4 version of the game reportedly does not have much going on, as it lacks exclusive features or content. This may change when it becomes playable on the PS4 Pro, but Roberts already said they could not promise a 4K gameplay, like with the Xbox.As for the PC version, the one via Steam is a bit more versatile. Players who will download it via the Windows Store will need a powerful gaming computer to fully appreciate the game.
