Miley Cyrus Credit Card Denied at Record Store? Singer 'Embarrassed'
Miley Cyrus was reportedly left red-faced after her credit card purchase was denied during a recent shopping trip at a Sherman Oaks, Calif. record shop.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer, 21, reportedly spent 30 minutes shopping at Freakbeat Records in the Valley on Sunday and when she tried to make a $170 purchase, her credit card was declined. Cyrus was attempting to buy a stack of used rock albums when the problem occurred, according to RadarOnline.com.
"No one in the store really recognized Miley, even though she was hard to miss. It's not her demographic of fans. But she was embarrassed none the less when her card was denied!" an alleged eyewitness told Radar.
The former Disney star, who was reportedly dressed in shorts and leather jacket, tried to keep a low-profile during her shopping outing.
"The cashier was really nice and told her the bank probably put a hold on it because it was a large purchase, so she dug out another card and the payment went through," the source explained.
While most shoppers did not recognize Cyrus during her shopping trip, one fellow shopper decided to put his suspicions to rest and asked her if she was in fact a "famous musician."
"The guy asked Miley if she could help with his band and take a listen to some of his music," the eyewitness said.
"You could tell she was thinking, 'What the hell?!' but chatted with him and asked him about his band and where she could listen to his music online. It was really nice of her," the source said.
In October the singer's new "Bangerz" album made history after debuting in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and selling 270,000 copies in its first week. She is currently in third place in Time magazine's 'Person Of The Year' reader poll and her overall net worth is estimated to be $120-150 million, according to CNN.com.
The credit card report comes more than one week after Cyrus was left devastated after reportedly losing an estimated $100,000 worth of jewelry during a heist.
The pop star's Los Angeles home was reportedly robbed on Nov. 22, just one day before her milestone birthday. She was not home during the time of the incident.
"She's extremely upset and a lot of personal items were stolen," a source told Us magazine. "She's really shaken up about the whole thing."
