Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Split: Pair Couldn't Move Past January Jones Scandal?
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have reportedly split just three months after reports of a cheating scandal involving actress January Jones surfaced.
The couple, who has dated on-and-off for three years, announced their engagement in May 2012. In February 2013 Hemsworth, 23, was linked to Jones, 35, which prompted Cyrus, 20, to stop wearing her engagement ring. While the pair allegedly tried to salvage their relationship, a source claims they have since parted ways.
"They are definitely over," a source told Us magazine. Cyrus was allegedly quoted as confirming to a friend "we're done."
The "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" singer reportedly hosted a party on May 10 and Hemsworth, who has not been photographed with Cyrus in months, is believed to have attended. While sources claim the pair looked happy and displayed lots of affection, Hemsworth was reportedly pressured into ending their engagement.
"They wanted him to end the romance for good," a source previously revealed. "Liam's brothers' had heart-to-hearts with him because they were worried. Each time, he was more receptive."
While both Jones, who is a single mom, and the "Hunger Games" actor never publicly addressed reports of an affair, Cyrus was allegedly willing to move past the scandal. The former Disney star reportedly became more intent on marrying Hemsworth after the cheating reports surfaced, which a source claims only pushed him away.
"He just snapped and said that he wasn't ready, which upset Miley because she was always so insistent they'd marry within a year," a source previously told RadarOnline.com.
"She was devastated, but Miley understands she may have been pushing him too much. Miley doesn't want to lose Liam, so she's accepted that she is just going to have to wait," the source added.
In April, just one month prior to the split reports, Cyrus spoke fondly about her relationship with the Australian actor.
"We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed," Cyrus -- who began wearing her ring again in recent weeks -- told Elle UK. "But we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it anymore."
