Miley Cyrus Vindicated By Magazine Concerning Beyonce Comments
Miley Cyrus did not speak negatively about Beyonce, one publication is stating after getting in hot water with the 21-year-old "Wrecking Ball" singer.
Cyrus recently spoke out against claims that she is looking to take over 32-year-old Beyonce's position as a music industry heavyweight after Love magazine claimed that she made some questionable statements about the chart topping veteran singer.
"Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me, but she's been out for such a long time," Love magazine reported Cyrus as saying. "She's so talented and I think she's at the top of her game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game."
"Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me, but she's been out for such a long time," Love magazine reported Cyrus as saying. "She's so talented and I think she's at the top of her game now, but people are always looking for new blood and that's what I bring to the game."
Now, Love magazine is retracting those statements.
"@mileycyrus never said anything to us about Beyonce, the quotes were made up and we're trying to get to the bottom of where this came from," the publication tweeted. "WE ALL LOVE BEYONCE."
The comments come after Cyrus spoke out publicly about the publication.
"That quote people MADE UP about Beyoncé just made me lol! How are people allowed to make up (expletive) & then [put] quotes around it saying I said that (expletive)! WTF," Cyrus exclaimed on Twitter. "U can cause A LOT of drama but NOT between me & B!"
Cyrus has been the face of controversy lately as a singer who has seemingly prided herself on her provocative appearance more than her music. The singer caused a stir during her MTV Video Music Awards performance in the summer, when she stripped down to a bikini while gyrating on married R&B singer Robin Thicke, 36.
"I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I'm this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day," Cyrus said, according to The New York Times. "It's like, 'Has anyone ever heard of rock 'n' roll?' There's a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, 'Well, that's a character.' Well, that's a character."
