Miley Cyrus 'Wrecking Ball' Video Breaks Record for Most Views

This has been the summer for music videos breaking and setting records on Vevo, especially for Miley Cyrus.

In June her video "We Can't Stop" earned 10.7 million views in 24 hours, and her newest music video for her single "Wrecking Ball" has already shattered that record. "Wrecking Ball" has earned of 18 million views and it has not yet been up for 24 hours, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Cyrus tweeted the announcement of the record breaking number of views.

"We broke the record ☺ We hit 12.3 million on vevo ☺ keep watching #wreckingballonvevo thank you Smilers," she wrote early on the morning of Sept 10.

The previous record was not set by Cyrus and "We Can't Stop," but it was held by the popular boy band One Direction and their hit "Best Song Ever."

Within just 24 hours, that One Direction video earned a huge 10.9 million views on Vevo, according to USA Today.

Though it appears the singer wasn't satisfied by merely breaking the record, as just a few hours later she tweeted out to fans hoping to gain even more views.

"DONT STOP WATCHING WRECKING BALL WE HAVE 9 Hours More we can get the Views Higher! #WreckedTheRecord," Cyrus tweeted.

Fans of the song are eager to support Cyrus via Twitter.

"WreckedTheRecord You're breaking records left and right, boo @MileyCyrus! Can't wait for the rest of the album," Twitter user Antonia wrote.

And Twitter user Huh Lima wrote, "call Miley thirsty or trend immature stuff, she doesn't care what your irrelevant a---- think. She's still at the top."
