Milla Jovovich asks for prayers for her injured stuntwoman on set of 'Resident Evil'

On Tuesday, Milla Jovovich took to Facebook to ask friends, family, and fans to offer prayers for the recovery of her stuntwoman, Olivia Jackson, who almost died while filming a motorcycle scene on the set of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter."

Jovovich said she wrote the post with a "heavy heart," and explained how her "incredibly talented stunt double, Olivia Jackson, collided with a camera crane while performing a motorcycle stunt, and it put her in the hospital with severe, multiple injuries."

According to The Guardian, Jackson, who also performed stunts earlier for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," collided with a metal camera arm while filming a high-speed motorcycle chase in South Africa and suffered severe head injuries, and a punctured lung.

Sky News reported that the 32-year-old was not wearing protective gear at the time of the freak accident, while multiple reports said she has been placed in a coma at the hospital.

Paul W.S. Anderson, Jovovich's husband, is directing the upcoming film and Jovovich said that her husband and the entire cast and crew of the movie were heavily affected by the accident and are waiting for Jackson to fully recover.

According to People, it appears that the stuntwoman may be in stable condition at the moment as Jovovich noted that she is "stable" and is under the careful monitoring of experienced South African doctors and staff.

On the other hand, Jackson still needs a lot of rest and support to further hasten her recovery. Jovovich, in her post, asked for her fans and everyone else to share "every bit of good energy" to help Jackson in her journey to recovery.

David Grant, Jackson's husband and fellow stunt performer, also took to Facebook and shared how the "thoughts" and "good vibes" of those wishing his wife well give her the will to make progress, finally thanking the people who continue to show their support.
