'Minecraft: Nintendo 3DS Edition' Release Date: Physical Version Coming Next Month
"Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition" is getting a physical release on Nov. 10, Nintendo of America has announced. This comes only a couple of months after the digital version of the game was released on the new Nintendo 3DS platform.
Nintendo broke the news on Twitter but the post, which came with a brand-new box art that indicated the version will come with amiibo support, has been taken down.
The box art for "Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition" on the listing on Amazon mentions no such feature on the box art, which means that amiibo support might not be available in the game after all. For now, however, there is no official confirmation yet.
What fans can expect is that this physical version will come with the same Survival and Creative modes that the digital Nintendo 3DS game got in addition to a couple of new texture packs, five skin packs and a whole lot more content.
The official description for "Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition" on the Nintendo Store reads:
Explore randomly‐generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in Creative Mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armor to fend off the dangerous mobs.
"Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition" will also give players the opportunity to "create and explore your very own world where the only limit is what you can imagine."
In the game, gamers can use the touch screen of the new 3DS in checking their maps or managing their inventory as they navigate through the game although traditional button controls are included as well.
"Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition" is priced at $29.99 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. More details should be released as the release date draws near.
