'Minecraft: Story Mode' on Steam, 'Minecraft: Wii U Edition' Now Available

PC and Wii U gamers can now join in the "Minecraft" fun. "Minecraft: Story Mode" and "Minecraft: Wii U Edition" are now available for gamers to play with and enjoy.

"Minecraft: Story Mode" for Windows 10 and Mac OS X

The Telltale Games series, "Minecraft: Story Mode," has finally arrived on Steam. PC gamers can now be part of the story and play as Jesse, which can be a male or a female character. As Jesse, players are given the freedom to decide how the story goes as the character journeys across the Overworld, the Nether, and beyond.

Those planning on downloading "Minecraft: Story Mode" should have at least the following Windows 10 PC specifications:

  • OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
  • Processor: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz or equivalent
  • Memory: 3 GB RAM
  • Graphics: ATI or NVIDIA card w/512 MB RAM; not recommended for Intel integrated graphics
  • DirectX: Version 9.0
  • Storage: 3 GB available space
  • Sound Card: Direct X 9.0c sound device

For those playing on a MacBook, the game needs the following minimum requirements:

  • OS: Lion (10.7.X) and older
  • Processor: 2.3 Ghz Intel
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: 512 MB NVIDIA or ATI graphics card; not recommended for Intel integrated graphics or Mac Minis or early-generation MacBook
  • Storage: 3 GB available space

"Minecraft: Story Mode" is a collaboration between Telltale Games and Mojang. The five-part game features voices from Patton Oswalt ("Ratatouille," "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."), Ashley Johnson ("The Last of Us," "Tales from the Borderlands"), Dave Fennoy ("The Walking Dead," "Batman: Arkham Knight"), Billy West ("Futurama," "Adventure Time"), and more.

PC gamers can download "Minecraft: Story Mode" for $24.99 via Steam.


"Minecraft: Wii U Edition" releases with six DLCs and more

As previously announced by "Minecraft" lead developer Jens Bergensten, Nintendo Wii U gamers can now place blocks, explore a randomly created world, and survive mobs in "Minecraft: Wii U Edition." The game arrives with the following add-on packs players can use to customize the look of their character and their "Minecraft" world:

  • Battle & Beasts Skin Pack
  • Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack
  • Natural Texture Pack
  • City Texture Pack
  • Fantasy Texture Pack
  • Festive Mash-up Pack

The game also offers support for offscreen play, more than 10 languages, and regular updates.

"Minecraft: Wii U Edition," which is currently in version 1.6.4, can be bought for $29.99 at Nintendo eShop.
