'Minecraft: Story Mode' release date: Not just one release date
The release date of "Minecraft Story mode" has been revealed.
Video game developer Telltale Games recently shared some news for Minecraft fans. It was revealed that the anticipated game "Minecraft: Story Mode" will be released in several dates.
Microsoft recently announced details about the upcoming title in its new blog called Xbox Wire. It was previously said that Minecraft: Story Mode is not a traditional sandbox and survival game, much like previous Minecraft games. The upcoming title will feature a narrative with distinct characters who players can use throughout the game.
The game will focus on a character named Jesse, who will go on adventures around several worlds such as the Overworld. The character is expected to meet up with a warrior for the "Order of the Stone," who will try to save the world.
CEO of Telltale Games stated, "Developed in partnership with our friends at Mojang, this all-ages adventure series kicks off a thrilling story full of many elements essential to the world of Minecraft, combined with Telltale's trademark choice-based gameplay. There are plenty of exciting details we've been keeping under wraps, and we're thrilled that players will soon be starting their own adventure through the Nether to the Farlands and beyond with Jesse and the Order of the Stone."
Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PCs with Windows 10 this Oct. 13. That is when players can experience the first episode of the series called "The Order of the Stone." However, no details have been revealed yet on when the rest of the episodes will be released. There will be a total of five stories for the title.
The game will also have a mobile version available in iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon App Store this Oct. 15. The title will be available as a physical copy in retail stores such as GameStop on Oct. 27. The game is already available for pre-order at the price of $29.99. However, the dates for the release on Wii U and PlayStation Vita have yet to be revealed.
