Meanwhile, the Vikings have improved over recent weeks but are still in the basement of the NFC North with a record of 3-8-1. The NFC North division is extremely tight with the Detroit Lions currently at the summit with a 7-5 record, and the Chicago Bears second on 6-6. The Green Bay Packers are closest to the Vikings, and they are on 5-6-1.

The Ravens have recovered well since they lost 20-23 to the Chicago Bears in Week 11. Since then they have destroyed the New York Jets 19-3, and gained a tight victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers 22-20 last week.

Today's game will the third straight game the Ravens have had at M&T Bank Stadium, and they will be looking at making it three wins from three.

Joe Flacco will be an important player today, and he is 262 of 438 for 2,993 yards and 15 touchdowns. Things haven't gone as well as he would have liked this season, but the Ravens will still be hopeful that they can close out the season and gain a spot in the postseason.

The Vikings have no such hope, and they will just be looking to keep improving their form and gain a more respectable record by the end of the year.

Minnesota lost in Week 11, getting thrashed 20-41 by the Seattle Seahawks. However, they have bounced back well, tying their game against the Green Bay Packers 26-26, and last week defeating the Chicago Bears 23-30 in a tense encounter.

Adrian Peterson has been a massive player for the Vikings all season as usual. He has gone 1,208 yards on 261 carries for an average gain of 4.6 yards and 10 touchdowns. Although he has spent his entire 7 year career at the Vikings, he has hinted that he would love to return to his homeland of Texas.

"You know, I'd be a liar if I said it's something that hasn't crossed my mind before," Peterson said on ESPN's SVP & Russillo. "But I've also said to myself it would be so amazing to be one of those players who stays with one team his entire career, it would be good if I could do that."

He added, "But being from Texas, I've always wondered, wow, it would be cool to play in Dallas, to play back home. Or to play in Houston."

Peterson of course signed a 7 year contract with the Vikings in 2011.
